When Billy Stitch arrived to host this private hen's party, we knew straight away it was going to be a good one. The mood was already perfectly set when we walked into a room sparkling with disco balls, swaying tassels, fresh flowers and standing proudly in the corner, a life-size cut-out of a very ripped fireman. The only thing missing? Gin. Luckily, that’s exactly where we came in.
Billy Stitch host Steph brought the magic, setting up a bright and colourful Billy Stitch display that quickly became the centrepiece of the room. Bottles lined the table, garnishes were laid out, and before long the space was transformed into a relaxed gin tasting experience for the bride-to-be and her crew.
Our private gin parties are designed to be easy, fun and completely stress-free for the host. We bring everything needed to run the tasting so guests can simply sit back, relax and enjoy the evening. For this hens celebration, each guest received a personalised tasting card, showcasing the selected gins for the night. The cards give guests a chance to jot down their thoughts as they taste each gin, which always sparks plenty of laughs and a few passionate debates about favourites by the end of the night.
Alongside the tasting cards, we provide a selection of mixers and garnishes so guests can mix and match flavours as they go. Once everyone was settled at the tables with a glass in hand, the tasting officially began. Each gin is introduced one at a time with a little bit of Billy banter and a quick rundown of the flavours guests are about to experience. It’s casual, interactive and a great way to get the conversation flowing.
After each introduction, guests are given around 15 minutes to sip, chat and enjoy before the next gin is poured. This relaxed pace gives everyone plenty of time to savour their drink, share their thoughts and wander over to the grazing table for a bite to eat. It also means the tasting feels social rather than structured, leaving plenty of space for guests to talk about the fun things in life while discovering new flavours along the way.
For this particular hens party, the group had a fantastic lineup of Billy Stitch gins to explore. The clear favourite of the evening was Galaxy Pink Gin , which quickly won people over with its vibrant colour and fruity flavour. Not far behind was Summer Gin , bringing bright citrus and floral notes that felt perfect for a celebratory afternoon.
Next up was Berry Mojito Gin , offering a refreshing twist with its mix of berries and a cool minty finish. The tasting finished with Tuckshop Gin , a savoury, botanical-forward gin that sparked plenty of conversation around the table.
Once all the gins had been explored and the tasting wrapped up, guests were also given the opportunity to purchase a bottle of their favourite gin to take home on the night. This is always a popular moment, as people decide which one deserves a spot in their home bar or which bottle they’d like to share with friends later.
