We’ve poured at a lot of events, but nothing quite compares to the Rockingham Beach Cup. This year, Billy Stitch Distillery was proud to be the official spirit sponsor of one of WA’s most exciting weekends and we showed up with bold flavours, a killer crew, and plenty of cool gin slushies to go around.
Set against the picture-perfect Rockingham Foreshore, the event drew thousands of racegoers to the sand for two days of sun, celebration, and something truly unique — live horse racing right on the beach.
While the sand track was the main stage, our own little oasis the Palm Beach Oasis licensed area was where the party happened. We were right in the heart of the action, keeping the crowds refreshed with our Berry Mojito RTDs and signature gin slushies, which became the hands-down favourites of the day.
Our team worked non-stop, serving up hundreds of drinks to thirsty punters enjoying everything from DJ sets and fashion parades to the charity auction. The bar line didn’t slow down, but neither did we and the energy from the crowd kept us going all day long.
There’s something special about watching people discover Billy Stitch for the first time — tasting that hit of berry, mint and citrus, then raising an eyebrow and saying, “What is this?!” We saw plenty of that, along with familiar faces coming back for a second round… or a third.
All-Female Racing Takes the Spotlight
This year’s Beach Cup had a powerful twist , every jockey on the sand track was a woman, shining a spotlight on the growing talent and presence of female riders in Western Australian racing. With no betting involved, the event shifted the focus to celebration, skill, and pure competition , a refreshing change that felt right at home with our values.
We’re big fans of bold women doing bold things, and watching these incredible jockeys take the reins was a highlight of the weekend.
A Celebration with Purpose
Beyond the beach, the sun, and the spirits, the Rockingham Beach Cup is a non-profit event run by the amazing team at the Rockingham Rotary Club. Proceeds from the weekend go directly to important causes, including Variety – the Children’s Charity and the Australian Jockeys Association.
That means every frozen cocktail, every ticket, and every moment helped support real impact , and we couldn’t be prouder to have been involved.
At Billy Stitch, we’re more than just a bottle on a shelf. We care deeply about community, about giving back, and about creating spaces where people feel connected , and this event delivered on all fronts.
